Soprano Ellie Kim
Performer
Ellie Yeonjung Kim is a soprano based in Washington, D.C. who has earned critical acclaim from Opera News for her portrayal of Rita in Rita, presented by The Martina Arroyo Foundation. She is a regular performer at Washington National Cathedral and frequently collaborates with Washington Master Chorale, Choral Arts Society of Washington, Bach in Baltimore, and Baltimore Musicales.
As a soloist, Ellie has performed works including A Ceremony of Carols with Washington Bach Consort, Requiem, Gloria, and Messiah throughout the DC metropolitan area.
Her operatic roles include Lucy in The Telephone at National Theater of Korea, as well as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Rita in Rita, Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Sophie in Werther, and Liu in Turandot.
Educator
In addition to her performance career, Ellie is a dedicated voice educator passionate about helping singers develop healthy vocal technique, artistry, and confidence. She serves on the voice faculty at Peabody Preparatory and Levine Music, where she works with students of varying ages and experience levels.
Ellie also maintains a private voice studio in Clarksville, Maryland, offering instruction for children, teens, and adults in classical voice, musical theater, choir preparation, auditions, and healthy vocal technique.
She holds a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree from Korea. Through both teaching and performance, Ellie is committed to fostering musical growth, artistry, and lifelong enjoyment of singing.
